Pippi Ardennia, Lowertown’s First Lady of Jazz and 2015 Twin Cities Jazz Fest Lead-Off Headliner heats up the Bedlam Theater, Saturday, October 22nd. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support the Bedlam.


Joining Pippi on-stage will be the Fabulous PipJazz SX Band and PipJazz All Stars and special guest: Kevin Sandbloom

About Pippi Ardennia: Pippi is the founder and president of the PipJazz Foundation, whose mission is “to inspire young musicians to find their voice through live performances with world-class musicians.” A Chicago Native, Pippi has performed at many of the city’s most respected jazz clubs, including the Burning Spear, Mr. Kelly’s, Rosebud on Rush, as well as Chicago Symphony Center and the Taste of Chicago. Since moving to Minnesota Pippi has appeared at the Dakota Jazz Club and the Twin Cities Jazz Fest. She has performed for such notables as President Clinton, Mayor Richard Daley, Tony Bennett, and Liza Minnelli and performed with Freddie Hubbard, George Freeman and Billy Branch.

Friday, June 24th 5:30-9:30 at the Bedlam Theater in Lowertown St. Paul


Pippi will be appearing for the Twin Cities Jazz Festival at the Bedlam on Friday, June 24th from 5:30 to 9:30 pm.


At 5:30 it will be the PipJazz Youth performing - These youth will be: Edmund Catlin on drums, Leila Lowry on vocals, Claire Altendahl on guitar, Jordan Anderson on piano, Charlie Lincoln on Bass, Yonci Jameson on bass clarinet. Perhaps another guest or 2 may appear.


At 6:30 it will be Luke Pickman on cello and Beth Varela on drums accompanying Pippi Ardennia and Jo Schad as they perform some of their own original music.


At 7:30 it will be Pippi Ardennia and the Women of Jazz appearing: These musicians will be Glory Yard on drums, Cymphony Jaxon on piano, Marilyn Parker on saxophone, Faye Washington on flute, Margo Breivik on bass and special guest Zosha Warpeha on violin.
